My Fear Is Myself Poem by Isyaffi Md Isah

My Fear Is Myself

I am a sinner
I am in perpetual sin.

But why must I fear You?
You who absolves all the sins
of whomsoever You choose.

No, it is not You I fear
O my Divine Love.

My fear is that I can never
Love You as much
as You love me
For You are my Creator
And I am of the forgetful.

So forgive me Lover.
Please accept this paltry love
I have for You.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wrote this during a moment of self-reflection; at a moment when I was trying to understand the concept of unconditional love.
