My Final Wish

When I die
I hope that I
Will be remembered a certain way

“Don’t be sad, be happy
It’s the way he’d want it to be”
Is not what I want people to say.

I want them to be sad
Not happy or glad
I am dead for God’s sake

I want to be missed
Whilst people are getting pissed
In the middle of my wake.

I want it to be said
That now I’m dead
Everyone is extremely upset.

And on this sad occasion
My good points to come up in conversation
And the bad things I’d rather people forget.

I want a solemn affair
I want the people there
To be discussing my exceptional wit.

I say this whilst knowing
If the drink has been flowing
About me people wouldn’t give a shit!
