My First Lucid Dream Poem by Dave Alan Walker

My First Lucid Dream

Rating: 4.6

Why doesn't anyone come for me
why am I alone
I cry for someone
but nobody comes
I don't know I'm asleep
I don't know it's all a dream

I'm stood by a withered old tree
I stand alone, nobody but me
I feel scared to the bone
the witch is watching me

The tree moves away
like it doesn't want to be seen
the witch comes to me, like she knows me

Then I'm looking out of the bedroom window
at a withered old tree
now I know it was all a dream

Why doesn't anyone come for me
why am I alone

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I was ten years old when I had this dream, my first ever lucid dream.
It was so clear it is more like a memory of reality than that of a dream.
I still have lucid dreams to this day, some good some bad.
One of my other poems called, Sands Of Time was also a lucid dream.

I enjoy you poems, I can relate to so many of them and some inspire me, before I stopped here today I wrote STILL I RISE after reading the world famous version by Maya Angelou, I also had a witch dream as a child.
