My Fourth Wish Poem by Didier Sixte Kahungu

My Fourth Wish

Rating: 5.0

If Hell be dark, try Without Her

Here I am sailing in he dark
Here I am, anchored to your heart

It all seemed like hieroglyph to me
Deciphering the color of your heartbeat
Dancing to the rhythm of your harp
Knowing the proper bait to trap your smile…

I wish I knew which code to decipher

Here I am dispered into mind and heart
Here I am,
Certain that I found you, God` s description of my happiness
And just when my heart started beating by the melody of your smile…
You vanished from earth` s file.

Under this rain
I wish my tears were sharper to distinguish
I wish the skies were bluer to embellish

I wish Enough was sufficient to cherish

If the sun be dazzling, try her smile

It shined…
But unlike sunrise, you come from all angles
It shined..
Like the sun from east
Seeming to brighten each south and west
Disguising and narrowing our true self that it never gets to brighten
And casting it behind its corporal victim
Wealth dazzled my sight

Now that you`ve extinguished
Not the sun nor the stars can amount your candlelight
In a room full of pearls, I still need you.

I wish “I” was taller to reach

If time be a healer, try lacking the seconds she spends loving you
Because only those count

Like I expected to find better after you
I expected time to heal
But my tears now are just as warm as they were the day you left
And my life now is just as blank as a new born`s
Because just as my eyes started blinking by the melody of your smile
Time took what makes my heart tick

I wish Long was eternal to seize

If death is worst, try lacking the one for you
And if death be final, try lacking the streaming of her love through your veins

Like a butterfly in a bottle
I had your colorful smile frame my heart
And my love for you dwell in the yolk of the same heart
That’s stained by the colour of your heartbeat
The heart that every minute spells your 72-letter name
That yolk that dances to the rhythm of your every pulse

Now that you`ve flown away
I counted on distance to gulp it down
`till I found your traces in my blood type

I wish tender was softer to please

If a heartbeat be concrete, try her shadow

Between time and space, wealth and breath
Promises and scriptures
Directions and senses
Now and tomorrow
Only the thought of you seems concrete

Now that I `ve learnt how to phrase this
If love be closest to what I feel about you,
I love you then.

If vows remain and scriptures stay
Try love.
