My God Poem by Aparna Chatterjee

My God

My God
Whoever
You are
Wherever
You are
Whatever
Pain you want to
Give to my daughter
Give it to me

I want her
To remain
Absolutely
Pain-free

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wrote this piece when my daughter tripped on something sharp and hurt her feet. Thankfully, it wasn't a grave injury.
She being the youngest in my family is the most precious to me and so I always feel hurt whenever she injures herself.
