My Guardian Angel Poem by Sarita Milliner

My Guardian Angel

A wall of protection shields me from the horrors of the night,
I close my eyes and drift away to see beauty in my sight!
I see clouds like fluffy marshmallows beneath the Moon so high,
Winged Angels and Unicorns, soaring freely across the sky!

A wall of protection shields me as I grow from year to year,
Thirteen, sixteen, eighteen, good times with nothing to fear!
I see my image changing; my thoughts are all over the place,
As Mother Nature’s costumes prepares me for the chase!

A wall of protection shields me as I come into my own,
Freedom, independence and discovery, yet I walk the streets alone!
I see warning signs of caution, fear and nervousness setting in too,
Then I close my eyes and count to three, like my mother use to do!

A wall of protection shields me through the ups and the downs,
Like the joy of riding a pony on the carnival merry-go-round!
I see Mustangs, Palominos and Shetlands’ adorned with glowing lights,
Never realizing my Guardian Angel, was well within my sight!
