My Guiding Star Poem by John Millington

My Guiding Star

I follow an uncharted path
After the supernova explosive aftermath
As I'm shooting through space
With no feelings or faith
I begin to lose matter
My insides start to shatter
What was my beautiful vale
Is now simply a vapour trail
My inside's burning cold
I grow weary and old
To become a black hole
Was my selfish goal
As my trajectory fell
I was feeling unwell
Like I'd been through an asteroid belt
Was how low I felt

Suddenly I saw afar
This twinkling star
Full of hope you glimmered
Caught my eye as you shimmered

I saw you shine
As bright as was mine
I knew who to trust
With your cosmic dust
I rebounded the glare of the sun
Right then my journey begun

I turned into a fighter
As you shone over me brighter
Then I began to gain speed
In the night, a noble steed
Your strong magnetic force
Duly altered my course
I was drawn to you
There was nothing else I could do

I understand now how important you are
Because when I was lost you were my guiding star
I feel the gravity of you from above
As you shine with your endless love
To the Milky Way
Is where we'll travel some day
And many journeys afar
My guiding star

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wrote this on 8th January 2013 for another site but it never got a review, hope you enjoy it. I am interested in the solar system and astronomy etc. so I decided to write a poem that parrallels people but described things from a solar system including feelings etc. I think I did a fairly good job.
