I miss you more than words can say
No longer will I beg you or ask you to stay
Harsh words echo and ring in my ear
Time they say will make my sadness disappear
Love is an illusion, I once believed
How easy it is to be deceived
Faith can lift you from the depths of despair
Trust when broken is hard to repair
What once was mine now belongs to another
My heart has finally gone asunder
The ring on your finger, how I wish it was mine
Alas, your love promised to another this time
How dark and empty the feelings that seize my soul
Not sure if I'll be able to regain control
It seemed my pain would never end
Then out of the blue, you called me again
A joy filled my heart when I heard your voice
Tears of happiness fell, my heart rejoiced
Tread lightly, I remind my wounded heart
I'm still here, we're still apart
I want to believe what you say is true
But all I hear is you telling me we're through
I've tried to distance the longing in my heart
It can't be done, from you my heart will never part
The hours drag on, as I wait and see
Are you sitting there also thinking of me?
Thinking of you every single day
Loving you in every possible way
A love that burns deep to my core
I'd give up everything for just one day more
I've searched my soul time and again
It's always the same, my love for you has no end
The love of my life you'll always be
You still mean everything to me
