My Heart Poem by Katniss Everdeen

My Heart

Rating: 4.5

My head screams at me to 'stop',
'Turn around, walk away',
My legs turn to jelly,
Trying to save me from dismay,

I try to call out,
There's nothing but a squeak,
I need find and tell you,
But my body's growing weak,

Lead fills my shoes,
My stomach ties up in knots,
My vision turns blurry,
I see little black dots,

My eyesight returns,
Though just for a while
But I see you're close
You turn around and smile

My knees give way
And I collapse on the floor
You rush over to help me
I just can't take it anymore

My brain screams in my face
My feet resist, don't tread
My stomach shrieks in my ear
As my heart whispers 'Go ahead'...

I've just read this beautiful poem of yours. The dialectics between the head and the heart have been beautifully expressed here.
