My Heart Could Wait Poem by Karen Montegrande

My Heart Could Wait

I could Give up everything just to let you know I Love You,
I'd give up my happiness for you,
I'd let you go knowing you're happy,
It will hurt bad but i love you truly,

I could pretend to be blind if you cheat on me,
I won't get angry or even ask why,
I won't even get too jealous but i won't promise i wouldn't cry,

I could listen to you 'til morning,
I could face the truth and never surrender,
For i love you unconditionally,
I Love You and i can't force my heart to pretend to love somebody,

I could try to be perfect to be with you,
Give you all the time you wanted me to,
I know i can't give everything to you,
'Cause from the very first moment it's only love that i can give you,

I could let you go if you tell me you're okay,
I'll ease the pain and i won't argue or even have something to say,
I'll close my eyes to let you know it's alright,
I won't demand or even try to fight,
'Cause i know you'll get angry and you'll push me away,
And i don't want you to, 'cause i really want you to stay,

I'm not a quitter but if it's your happiness on the line,
I promise i won't be selfish instead I'll be kind,
This love I'm feeling is not like a game,
If they call me a martyr I won't be ashamed,
It ain't that simple if love is really true,
But i won't promise anything because i know,
My heart could wait for you.
