My Heart Is Weary Poem by Joyce Hemsley

My Heart Is Weary

A Reminder of dear John Denver
'Take Me Home Country Roads'

Oh the weather outside is dreary
Take me home, my heart is weary.
I implore you in an anxious tone...
Misery prone, just take me home.

Romance is losing its glory.
Not long ago 'twas a magical story.
But thrill of a kiss we've now outgrown
No love is shown, so take me home.

Why can't our love be as before?
Once you hurried through the door
Bringing a ring with an opal stone
How time has flown, oh take me home.

It's only now that I see life clearly
I need you to be ever near me.
Two souls together, never alone.
Never to roam, please take me home.

This poem is real, I have felt the same. Nice work, nice flow.
