From this cage
I must break free
Turn the page
And you'll find me
Another day
That's my escape
Through the pain
Held inside me
Wipe away
My tears that stream
From my face
And then I bleed
Deep inside
I cannot sleep
Cannot dream
But can wonder
Why this cage
Holds me under
Captures me
Then reels me in
Ties me down
And locks me up
Pulls me down
When I come up
Cannot leave
Without some love
There's the lock
I need the key
Lies with her
Who'll soon find me
Her name 'Hope'
Or maybe 'Dream'
Maybe it's
Just 'Make Believe'
All I know
Is to escape
From this cage
It needs to be
My soul mate
Who holds the key
To my heart
To break me free
