I habituate in romantic folly
Can not disguise these eyes
Caught up on the conveyor belt
Circling round your smile
Yanking myself from the entanglement
My heart young, again
Lover friend
My act of contrition, my admission
Moving to the momentum
Of your mighty lure
I endure the shift of sand
If but to stroke your hand
In the hurricane aftermath of
Losing myself, my stable home
All my belongings...To you
My heart young
The first line of the poem is a confession I HABITUATE IN ROMANTIC FOLLY and the rest of the poem shows the consequence of the latest such surrender. There's a list toward the end of what has been lost LOSING MYSELF, MY STABLE HOME, ALL MY BELONGINGS. What has she gained? Twice she repeats the title MY HEART IS YOUNG, which is a psychological condition, a state of mind. How long will it last? Perhaps until she realizes she doesn't any lasting relationship with the man? I don't see any compensation here - only loss upon loss.
