My Inner Playlist Poem by Ann Cassie

I am the heartache in your soul
The secret that you told
I am the shadows of the night
That howls in the silent moonlight

I am the heart that has been broken
The nerves that have been shaken
I am the mysteries of wonderland
The fairies flying with Peter Pan

I am the drink you wish to have
The image in the water you attempt to grab
I am the dangerous waves
The love you crave

You’ve heard me in your ears
Whisper things only you hear
Bringing messages through your slumber
I’ve been talking all day, now it’s time to recover
