My Irrational Heart Poem by Cat Watson

My Irrational Heart

My irrational heart knows no better.
It sees you and starts to pound.
It tells my stomach to tie in knots.
It sends the butterflies a flutter.

My irrational heart hears no words.
It sees you and reaches out.
It tells my feet to move to you.
It sends my pulse racing and my mind reeling.

My irrational heart speaks no lies.
It sees you and knows how it feels.
It tells my lips to meet yours.
It sends my brain into a fog.

My irrational heart finds no faults.
It sees you and that's all.
It tells me what you are.
It sends my thoughts into a frenzy of love words.

My irrational heart loves you.
It sees you and makes a plan.
It tells my rationality to take a nap.
It sends me to you.

It may not be the right thing to do. To pine after someone who may not be good for you. But it feels wonderful to something for someone right.

The sensation of drowning is stong, blind love, physical pain....
