My Last Heartbeat Poem by Linda Barnes

My Last Heartbeat

With my last heartbeat
My only prayer
Will be for those
That I leave behind

With my last heartbeat
I hope another's heart
Will be revived and
Have more years than I

With my last heartbeat
Please know my life
Was full of achievements
After despair or disappointments

With my last heartbeat
I will remember everyone, and
Why our paths had crossed
For there is no coincidence in life

With my last heartbeat
The love I have for my family,
Children and grandchildren
Is what I cherished the most

With my last heartbeat
Just rejoice in where I've gone
For I will be surrounded in love
By Angels who left before
