My Lost Sapphire Poem by Nalini Jyotsana Chaturvedi

My Lost Sapphire

Rating: 5.0

As a young fledgling
I was always itching
To take off and fly
In the endless sky

Alas! My wings were powerless
Incapable and so helpless
Hence, to take a flight
I knew could just care less

Growing up was fast
For childhood never lasts
But my juvenile dreams
Still enjoyed the parturience
Of the past

I still believed
in the vastness of the sky
So I weighed my wings
Looking forward to maiden flight

There was so much happening
in my little heart
Leaves on trees just fluttered
The wind blew friendly, no blasts

At last in happy anticipation
I looked above my grass
Where did my sky go?
My very own piece of
Precious sapphire glass

Such is life!

When I have my
Pair of strong wings
And am set to take off
With no attached strings

My piece of sky
Has floated away,
Unseen by my eyes,
With times strong winds
Just escaped my gaze
Now...
I sit dazed
Watching my dreams
Buried to the ground razed.

Absolutely beautifully sad. You are no doubt gonna be on the top 500 easy. The way you put together your words sad or happy... It's beyond what I see normally. It's beyond the depth if some of the top 500. And I know you don't care about any of that, and that is what makes you so deserving of such an honor.

A Touching poem. Loved the way you kept the flow of poem and with beautiful rhymes. Painful words.... I sit dazed Watching my dreams Buried to the ground razed. Very true said, sometime our dreams never take a flight, they land on ground before taking its flight. Loved the way you presented it. Thanks for sharing with us.
