My Lovely Child Poem by Lauren Joy

My Lovely Child

I'll wait for you, my lovely child
I'll wait to see your face
If years will flee
Still here I'll be
Thinking of your smile

I'll sing for yu, my darling one
I'll sing you lullabies
All night I'll croon
For very soon
I'll hold you close to me

I'll cook for you, my sweet angel
I'll cook you many things
All kinds of sweets
And juicy meats
Whatever you desire

I'll be strong for you, my precious soul
I'll be strong and resolute
No tears from me
No fears will there be
But mountains of masculinity

I'll cry for you, my only babe
I'll cry all night and day
The tears will flow
The fears will grow
When you don't come back to me

I'll die for you, my lovely child
I'll die a thousand deaths
When I know you're gone
When my heart is torn
And I'm left in fatal solitude
