My Lover, My Friend Poem by Les Farrow

My Lover, My Friend

My lover, my friend,
Taker of my heart,
Holder of my soul.

A thousand years of love from you would never be enough.

I crave your love,
I need your touch,
A day without you is like a lifetime to me.

You opened my heart, now I can see,
An inspiration unknown before,
A strength from deep inside.

I want to hold you when you sleep,
Watch you dream your dreams,
Feel you breathing next to me,
Listen to your heartbeat.

To see the love you have for me,
When I look into your eyes,
Leaves me in no doubt,
We are together body and soul forever.
