My Martinet

I stand and stare
Not in confusion
Not in awe
Not in surprise
Not in fear either
Not as i
But as she
Nurtured and groomed
In the firmament of
The (in) visible destiny
That taught me
Many a lesson in its due course
In its inimitable role
As a martinet

Today the training makes me
Stand on the margins
Of life and death
In total dispassion
And surrender...
