My Missing Alter-Ego Poem by Comfort Zone

My Missing Alter-Ego

In every rendezvous –
With my scorched, ruminating consciousness,
I endeavour to excavate the stifled “me”,
Amidst a mound of endless creepers -
Basking under my cool canopy,
And devouring me -
In a pythonic peristalsis of solitude,
Leaving behind nothing -
But my anaemic other self,
Rationalizing with superficial affluence,
Sublimating through resourceful creativity,
And generating an inexhaustible geyser of tears -
From a shrieking heart that speaks no more,
And a dehydrated pair of lungs -
Yearning for a draft of fresh oxygen –
To replenish my hopes for redemption,
Through my only saviour,
My missing alter-ego.
