My Mom Poem by Raynette Quel

My Mom

She wears her face proud
it's very rare you will see her frown

She fights the battle everyday of her life
holding on with all her might

She has a cub
that she raised well
she left her behind
so she would be prepared

she lives her life
for someone new
that makes her feel like she's a jewl

Her laughter carries on through the night
she knows how to get down and have a real good time

Her ways are sometimes careless
and her views are young and old
you'd sometimes forget that she's 42 years old

She wears her face proud
her head will never drown
she will keep her secrets
till she's in the ground.
