My Monster Poem by Katrina Olson

My Monster

There's a monster inside of me
Screaming to be free
I dont want to let it out
Ill let it scream and shout
My monster is not mean
My monster is rarely seen
Im still scared to let it out of me
Without it I dont know who I'd be
If I let my monster free
Where will that leave me?
Alone once again
Lost without my monster friend
We all have monsters of our own
Some we dont see till we've grown
Everyday I hear my monster yell
Telling me ill be dragged to hell
If my monster was free
I know he'd be dragging me
With my monster to hell I go
Then I realize i am home
If I let my monster free
Nothing will really change for me
I live my own hell day by day
And that's why my monster will stay.
