My New Reality Poem by Ricky Durkin

My New Reality

so few know my true pains
so far deep it's in the core
my pain is hidden to all
not even friendly eyes see the truth
hiding in my smile
covered up by laughs
the burning pain grows stronger
with every tear
with every hug
all too soon the pain shall become
my new reality
of past injuries to my soul

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
over the years of my life, pains from everything from exclusion to heartbreak just kept building up.
