My One And Only Poem by Samantha White

As hard as I try, I can’t seem to get you off of my mind,
you are my one and only. I
have never felt this way before and it scares me.
What has happened to me?
When I’m not with you I seem to lose my mind.
When I’m with you I can barely breathe.
I barely know you so how do you make me feel this way?
I see you every night in my dreams and in my mind all day.
I just wanted to say:

I love you but my heart is breaking.
Because I know that you can never love me the way that I love you.
If only you knew of all the tears I’ve cried.
If you counted them you’d be counting until the day you died. Because you are my one and only.

You seem to be the cause of my heartache,
so who will be the cure?
I’d like to think that it is you,
but this is impossible.
I feel as if my whole world is falling apart,
because I love you more than anything.
I don’t know what to do.
How long will I have to keep this secret?
It is driving me crazy.
Will I ever get the courage to say?

As I sit here dreaming, longing, hoping, waiting, loving you,
I feel my eyes fill up with tears.
I try to hold them back but I just can’t seem to stop.
I can’t go on without you. I
will love you ‘till the day I die.
At night as I lay in my bed,
I wonder if you will ever understand how I feel,
And the only way I can go to sleep is to think of you.
I wonder if you will ever know that:
