My Only Friend

Days resume and nights go by,
The sun won't rise again,
If I was blessed with lines,
Why is the dark my only friend? ,
I've spoken in curses and my words were drunk,
I'm a lonely ship out to sea,
With a white flag and my anchor sunk,
All there's left to do is believe,
I've taken chances and mistakes were made,
I know time won't stop for me to change,
I'm pressing on with my renegade,
It's all I have with love away,
These days will come and they will end,
If I was blessed with lines,
Why is the darkness my only friend.

Tell me not (Sweet) I am unkind,

Of thy chaste breast and quiet mind
To war and arms I fly.
