I am my own worst enemy
Instead of confessing my love
I chose to admire from afar
Oh what a devastating mistake

Was but a fool to convince myself
That you were destined for me
Should have realised you could
Never wait for me

If I had fought my inner demons
More ferociously
Confessed this love for you
You could have been mine
Alas twas not my fate to have you
For now you belong to another

This pain I cannot fault you for
For you had not but an idea
My love will go on unsaid
Just know I will be there for you
Till the very end
