My Parents Poem by wafae bazzi

we go through life
and so few people say
'hey you're doing a good job'
or'you're on the right track with your life'
but you say it all the time
you always have reassuring me
making me believe in me
and making me feel good
about who i am
and what i hope to accomplish
even when others didn't take me seriously
you encouraged me to try
and made me feel that
whatever i wanted to do was all right
you probably have no idea
how immense the gift
you give me is
but i know that i couldn't have done it
or become the person i am
without you
