Beauty does not depend on the dimensions
It's a great work by Mr Hugh's. Beauty lies in the eyes of a sensitive person, not in the dimensions. Thanks for the sharing of the poem. (Report) Reply

Short but significantly powerful with its message for minority empowerment, in a few lines Mr. Hughes conveys a reassuring message to those who have been marginalized by the mainstream strata of society. I don't think this is so much Black lives matter as much as Black is Beautiful, the soul of a person is the most beautiful thing. I cant say much more, but this is a great piece to be read especially in divisive times. (Report) Reply

Yes, all the peoples of the world are beautiful... old people, young people, sad people, happy people, handicapped people, people who are not handicapped. Look at pictures of these people- their beauty will blow you away. It helps, of course, if you look at them with eyes of love. (Report) Reply

Superb poem establishing connect of nature's manifestations with the emotions of human beings that too represent a manifestation of nature. Thanks for sharing it here. (Report) Reply

The poem is beautiful; so is the impact it brings. The simplicity of expression about nature and its connection with real life situations and feelings is quite enchanting. Hats off to the great poet. (Report) Reply

Simply profound. A simple statement, yet also an invitation to look for beauty where some have been conditioned not to see it. (Report) Reply

I think he was saying Black Lives Matter before there was a movement or maybe he was sort of starting such a movement..

The poet sees beauty in all people as against the views of racists all over the world along with those of America. Great little poem. (Report) Reply

Beautiful, also, are the souls of my people

Yes, the whole issue is about soul. Humans should be judged by their soul and not the skin of their colour. pigmentation is an indicator of nothing. Simple and nice poem
