My Prison of Mysterious Beauty

Looking around I see
Beautiful marvelous things around me
I believe I am awakened
My life was not taken
But now I wonder if I'm asleep
But as I look around my eyes are open as I peep
I can breathe, smell, and see
I still look like me
I don't know how I came to this place
It almost seems as if my memories have been erased
The shock and amazement are filled with fear
I no longer wish to be here
I wish to go back home
But this land I now roam
Stuck only looking about
Wondering always a way out

Poem of the Day

poet Li Po

Amongst the flowers I
am alone with my pot of wine
drinking by myself; then lifting
my cup I asked the moon
to drink with me, its reflection
and mine in the wine cup, just
