My Shadow Poem by Andrew Lees

My Shadow

I look over my shoulder
And what do I see
It is that my shadow
Is following me
I jump in the shade
My shadow is gone
It lives in the sunlight
And now there’s none
Go away shadow
You have no right
To follow me around
In the warm sunlight
But I’ll beat you shadow
And just for a lark
I won’t try to come out
Until its dark
