My Solitude Poem by Robert Siney

My Solitude

Alone I stand in the solemn shadows;
The cold air circles my fragile ghost
A peaceful breath and a peaceful stare;
This place seems appropriately serene
Somehow I know my isolation is everything;
I want to live forever within my solitude.

I cannot hear the silence
And I cannot see the darkness
The wind like an invisible lover;
Stroking my skin and soothing my soul
Yet I fly solo in the sky tonight;
Soaring aimlessly through this blanket of tranquillity.

Only the sleepless appreciate the delicacy of the night;
And as daylight appears I know I must resurface
Back to the familiarity the sunrise brings;
A place where I breathe just to know I’m here
But I just can’t lose this morning;
It must stay with me always.
