My Stand

My heart will go on,
On and on to go,
Higher and higher to reach,
For my hand will be raised!

To speak the truth I won’t hesitate,
Displaying the hidden treasure to see,
Lighting up to nakedness,
For my hand will be raised!

Harder and harder I go,
To the skies that lay above I stand,
To see the brightness of the moon and skies,
For my hand will be raised!

To raise it wholly or in disguise,
For people to see,
Because agreement seldom choice,
For my hand will be raised.

To the end of my poem I reach,
For the beginning no say,
For the message delivered,
To the wise understood!

poet Ambrose Bierce

Weather
by Ambrose Bierce

Once I dipt into the future far as human eye could see,
And I saw the Chief Forecaster, dead as any one can be--
Dead and damned and shut in Hades as a liar from his birth,
