My Subconscious Poem by Srita Sri

My Subconscious

Day by day, with every passing dawn
My heart burdens; it doesn’t forgive
Nor forget; there is no silence in my mind
Surrounded by nightmares, I fear to sleep

What is that hurts the most? Is it the loss of the one?
Or the loss of the self? But this is nothing new,
Yet the sword sinks deep cutting me through
My foes are not the one outside, right here…

With questions I can’t answer
Taking me to the world I should have seen earlier
I see no path now; nowhere to go
All alone, waiting for nothing!
