My Thoughts Poem by Christina Byrd

My Thoughts

Alone I lay as all is quiet
No one is awake but my head is spinning
Ideas flow like a river
And create a pool on my pillow
I think of the future and the past
The present is here then gone
So I just think of love
Or a better world
Or for sleep to finally come
But alas it doesn't
so I stay on my thoughts
Songs play constant
Movie clips are on repeat
Colors dance about wildly
My brain's a jumbled mess
But I still process my thoughts
I hope that when I finally do sleep and wake,
A better tommorow will await.
