My Winter Poem by atr bis

My Winter

I see the yellow skeleton of sun fading away
In the frozen lake, slowly
My heart too, like the frozen lake
All ice cold on the surface
All movements inside, all the dull ache

When a tiny green leaf resurfaces
My wintery hands want to sush it away
they want to tell him how out of place it looks...
In the cold white eternity
No place for him to stay

I want to tell, its not time for you to blossom, little leaf
Change yourself to yellow or red or brown
And fall away, get buried inside the snow
Go away till I cant see you
You do not belong here, this is the city of mourn.

If you blossom, the ice will break
and all the stillness will be gone
I cannot bear to see the stirrings in the lake

And maybe the nightingale will sing
A red tulip will dare to come out too
Maybe the sun will smile again

My toes will no longer be numb then
My heart will start feeling the pain
If you go away, winter
then my tears will no longer be frozen
They will start to flow again...
