My World Poem by Robert Longley

My World

Spread apart your fingers
And cover up your eyes
Look out through the spaces
It might take a couple tries

This is how I see things
I wanted you to know
Because I can not tell you
It’s something I could show

Things you take for granted
Are more than I can bear
Assaulting all my senses
But it’s nice to know you’re there

Maybe in the future
They’ll find the cure you seek
Consider this my first message
That one day I will speak
