Mypoem Poem by David Whittingham

Mypoem

Now I suppose you could claim,
And most would do the same,
That most of what I write is quite dramatic,
However I’m no real depressed fanatic,
I can be twice as fun,
As a sugary current bun
More wonderful than the sunset
Especially when I’m on a bet,
Or out flying a kite,
Which can be twice as fun at night,
So please,
I’m on my knees,

Don’t beat me with a stick,
Or angrily throw a brick,
Depressed poems I can probably stop,
Although I suspect with the emotion I’d pop,
However if my sense of drama is at fault,
Then lock me in a vault,
However even in my perfection,
I can declare with some affection,
I am a dramatic soul,
Maybe that’s my role,
And can easily admit,
Although don’t expect me to sit,

This is hard for me,
Honest is difficult to be,
Even after today,
I’m forced to say
You wouldn’t be far wrong,
Sometimes the pull to the dramatic is so strong
Sometimes even I,
Forget to try,
To better than I am
Not to end up like spam,
All I ask is remember,
This December,

That not all life is doing gloom,
Hey, even America once had a boom.
I even attempt to rhyme,
Particular when I have the time,
As does every other poet,
Then look into some are suspect you wouldn’t know it,
Personally I don’t buy into this view,
It almost makes me spew,
After all expression should be free,
At least according to me,
Now don’t worry,
Or leave in a hurry

Right or wrong,
This poems end won’t be long,

After reading this,
I leave you with a kiss,
You must think me a loon.
See you soon
