Myself And The Orphan # 1: Get Out Of The Cold, My Child Poem by Justin Gildow

Myself And The Orphan # 1: Get Out Of The Cold, My Child

Snow is lightly falling down
Winter has finally come to this town

I bundle myself up
Before I head out the door and brave the cold
Along with the many other cold elements

I walk along through this town
And I see you alone in the alley
Hugging yourself to keep warm

I walk up to you
And I ask if you're alright
You don't speak to me
But your situation is spelled out to me as your eyes lock their gaze into mine
Along with a look of sadness on your face
I can tell that you'd want more than anything to eat and be warm for a while
Come with me, my child
Get out of the cold
Walk beside me
