Mysterious Everything Is To My Curiosity Poem by Andrus Cassian

Mysterious Everything Is To My Curiosity

Dark night lit by the moonlight
a common mix of blindness and pure happiness
I lay awake, heart beating faster than the wind blows
a clouded mind, a puzzle hard to uncover
Those brilliant brown eyes appear in my dreams
what are these feelings that have appeared on my doorstep
another plain afternoon
who are these strangers like me
I'll remind myself to ask later
cause I'm caught in the riptide
the riptide of all these new things
that are surrounded around me
they came from a land I never knew of
but their hands are of the same shape and depth of mine
I've lived on this lush green island my whole life
I've asked her once if she would stay
but her face contorted with sadness
and she ran away
If I asked her...would she?
It couldn't hurt to try
but it's too insane
though there's a million things I need to know
would she take my hand...
What is she drawing?
looks like a yellow bird in a tree sketched neatly
if they flew away would she be disappointed
well I see just one small chance
to allow her a view of the peace and serenity
of my spacious world
would she look into my eyes and see how
mysterious everything is to my curiosity
If I could just take this one moment...
'Take my hand, let me show you the wonders of my world'
This is another universe away from hers
if she would take a deep look in my eyes
would she see that I need her
would she still be shy around me
would she see that I love her...
