Naked Heart Poem by Keri Jopplin

Naked Heart

How much goodness will my heart try to do;
After it's beat so long & what it's been thru?
I've felt so much pain BUT my life must go on,
Hard times & prayers, is my spirit lost gone?

I'm a passionate ol soul, perhaps over-whelmingly so!
My heart as it beats, it runs...going for gold.
Love is grand, beautiful, it didn't break my heart,
Vulnerable at cost, losing a love, tore me apart!

A new paining scar, my heart tires with pain;
I've lost more in love, than I care to regain.
Weeping in sorrow, as I yearn to be strong,
Longing for love, lost, where do I belong?

My heart feels much, in a large degree
The hearts all forgiving & loves as it please
I've not prepared, when my heart skips a beat
Hiding from fear... as it speeds into retreat

Be true to oneself as it's a positive plus!
Spoken for, in time, our hearts shouldn't fail us!
One swift act of kindness, my heart has been shown;
Where it has been...lost, broken....unknown.
