Nature Of The Flower Poem by ERNEST CLARY

Nature Of The Flower

Rating: 5.0

One morning I seen a flower facing east
looking at the sun
it followed the sun to say the least
looking west when the day was done

marveled at the sight of what I seen
I watched it all night
it began to lean
without the light

tilting its head
to say it best
as though going to bed
to get some rest

by morning it was where it had been
as though it never ceased
all over again
it was facing the east

now I know the flower
as the sun leads
giving it the power
to make more seeds

as it sips at the soil
getting itself a drink
it seems to toil
more than we think

on a windy day
standing there
the petals blew away
the stem bare

they were scattered around
laying near
on the ground
the seeds for next year

are you refering to the snow buttercups that grow on the rocky mountains they are a beautiful type of flower or the sunflower or daylilies either way these flowers have a very clever design and there instincts are cause for pondering, great poem :)
