Natures Bounty Poem by Mark Dillon

Natures Bounty

Rating: 5.0

Silently the winter nights creep in.
The summer days have gone
And the Autumns rich colours are starting to thin
And the birds to the south have flown.
As the log fires glow and spark up the night,
the kids think of outfits for a halloween fright.

There's lots of fruit and nuts to gather
from natures abundant store.
Pumpkin pies and Apple tarts
And recepies by the score.
Even the animals are gathering stock
to last through hibernation.
And families gathering for thanksgiving
with feasts and celebration.

Mother nature is winding down
to prepare for cold wind and snows.
Sleeping through the winter months
while deep inside her bosum grows
the wonderous seeds of rebirth
that when in the spring it's presence shows.

Beautifully written with wonderful imagery. The last stanza offers a glimpse of a promise for Spring, and now it's here! Really loved this piece, your rhyme and cadence! -Holly Jamestone
