Natures Children
who can say so many words,
but these truly affordableyes,
"l love you too, "
why call away everything when one callingis sufficient, " come with me"
where to but anywhere is my home with you.
why haunt for heavens kiss, when the kingdom of heaven comes with your kiss.
what routes to the tempest of the sea, when we are
both tough sailors.
why sing like the nightingales when we can hear our own private love songs,
why deny heaven when we are both dead to the world,
why own a mansion when we have our little cave in the stars.
why must it be creation when we are both creators.
"does it have to disappear when you are holding my hands,
breathing my thoughts"?
singing my songs and whispering the beholden words.
why a choir when our ears are hearing an entire orchestra.
i don't need the soft quivers of the violin when i amstoking the strings of your heart.
now hear a loud crescendo as the music winds up a magic stair and falls on your lap.
the star you, the composer me,
we get a loudclapping of hands
we sleep in the twilight among the stars,
alone and together in the manger of the sky,
like natures childrennaked at birth, naked at death,
with warm wrappings of the leaves.
