Needy We Poem by Barry Van Allen

We need to talk more than we do, or ever have,
when we were lovers, all the world lost it's way,
all we needed was a breath, a kiss, a touch of tenderness,
we need to feel those simple feelings, here today.

You still somehow give me something,
that I cannot bear to lose,
simply said, I find me still in love with you.

I cannot put my finger on the reasons that I do,
all that I know, is no one else,
can make me feel the way you do.

We need to touch more than we do,
in evening silence,
we need to hold each other closer,
and be resilient for each other.

When I think of it, I truly love to hold you,
and when I think of it, each time it feels new,
we need to think of things like that,
- - - so much more than we do.

We need to look into the eyes of one another,
we need to open up our hearts to one another,
we need to feel what was real, once again,
we need to need the parts of us,
- - - that we can't bother with today.

We need to use the strength of us,
to bring back all the strength of us ,
and to remember all that loneliness,
that is not with us,
- - - as long as we're together.

We need realize that people come and go ,
we need to know that time is only time,
we need to understand that temptation is a constant,
and that love is just as tough, and requires all the work,
of any higher state of mind .

We need to let what others say go out the other ear,
we need to grab each day today,
we need to say what we must say,
and to listen, not just hear.

We need perspective, we need caring,
and perhaps a touch of daring,
while along with all that sharing,
we really need to know,
... we need each other.
