Never Forget Your Old Hometown Poem by Hebert Logerie

Never Forget Your Old Hometown

Never forget who you are.
Never forget where you came from.
Avoid fighting a sad war
Against old friends. You can go back home
Again. You can contribute to the well being
Of this society. You can continue humming
The songs of yesteryear with a new tone.
You can sing and dance from spring to autumn.
Never forget your old hometown.
When things aren't copasetic, when you're down,
You can go home again to meet a new camarade.
You can reminisce and join the parade.
