Never Give Up Poem by John Fenton Mcleish

Never Give Up

When you see all your friends die one by one
Of suicide, cancer or heroin
And everything you've known is but gone
Lift your head at midnight and see the sun

Shine upon this soul lord, give me some hope
With all this death around how does one cope
Sometimes I do wish that I will be next
Oblivion seems right in this context

An endless mourning that does break one's heart
Again and again I am torn apart
In love I seek shelter from this tempest
But the pain does not ease, does not arrest

Though it is midnight you will see the sun
Even when you think all hope is gone
