Never Good Enough Poem by Nerissa Morton

Never Good Enough

Rating: 2.8

No matter how much you try,
How much you cry
Even those close to you never seem to get it;
Never seem to understand that;
That you don't need them insulting you,
Putting you down;
Making you seem as if you are a failure

You do not brag
You try not to complain
You don't say you are supreior,
Because you know you're not
You know you are nothing special
You know you are very particular with who you trust
Sometimes that isn't enough,
You still come across as a bad person;
A selfish person

People say, 'Just make yourself happy.'
How can you do that when you are alone?
And the few people you do have;
You never seem to please
When you're trying all day to please them;
Pulling yourself down at the same time;
Then get insulted
You feel somewhat alone;
Unappreciated;
Failed

You may call it overdramatic;
I call it brave
Brave that even when they break you down;
You always come back;
Giving all your heart and soul to please them;
The ones you just want to be happy;
But that is never good enough

Don't give up doing good just because people are not appreciative. Let good overcome those which are not.
