Never Quelled Poem by David Aslin

Never Quelled

A sense, I have not felt, nor tasted or smelt – Yet
Lingers,
And runs through me and all my thoughts
My soul rages battle with my mind, out of this; it’s you I always find
Each moment away, burns so deep, at times I cannot sleep
To awake each day, it's your name I say…..Lisa

I know our time together has been but short,
But for both perhaps the second time should not be so fraught
Yes, there are others we must give thought, but to be true to ourselves, should also be sought
For you Dear Lisa, you are my world, feelings and thoughts,
Never quelled

To hold you tight, feels so warm and right, to hear your sigh, something must be right
Each time or night together, I would love to go forever

Behind the eyes you may be afraid – no need my love, you have plenty that’s right,
Your heart does beat, your thoughts and will – truly so strong, with so much might

To hold your hand, your head against mine, is all that I want till the end of time

An affair of the heart and consequential collateral upset given voice in a fine piece. Stay strong. Be one.
