New Me Poem by Mandy MMR

New Me

Crossing the line into to unknown
Trusting the light that has been shown
Not knowing where to lay my trust
i must be kind, firm, and just
Careful not to go too far
I'm scared to believe who you really are
Painful tears fall from my face
You look upon me with such disgrace
I hang on to the things I know
Guilt and grief is what I tow
Slowly working past my fears
All the jeering and the leers
Hurt shall follow in my wake
Just for now, my life is at stake
Take all this away and see
There will be a whole new me
